Our team has developed training materials that can be used to supplement any basic motivational interviewing training your team has already received, as well as any introductory training your team has received about the Saferteens intervention.
In the training materials tabs, you will find:
"Training Videos: Saferteens Intervention Examples." Our team has created three examples of full-length Saferteens intervention sessions as well as many small clips of segments of the intervention for you to experience and practice the Saferteens intervention. On this page, you will also find two examples of a physician seamlessly referring a patient to the Saferteens interventionist. These videos are meant as refreshers and guides, which you can adapt to best suit your clinic and your patients.
"Training Videos: Motivational Interviewing Workshop." These videos are a taping of a motivational interviewing workshop given by Dr. Ken Resnicow for clinicians who were preparing to learn how to conduct the Saferteens intervention at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI. These videos are not meant as a stand-alone training, but a supplement or refresher to providers who already have basic motivational interviewing knowledge and proficiency.
"Online Intervention: An Introduction and Guide to Saferteens" This video is meant as a supplement or refresher to the in-person Saferteens intervention training. It was filmed during a Saferteens Workshop at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI.
"How to Practice the Intervention." This guide offers instructions on how to access the Saferteens intervention portal and how to navigate the training module.
