What Training is Needed to Deliver the Saferteens Intervention?

There are two required elements of training:

 

• A basic understanding of motivational interviewing (MI). Instructors for these courses can be found here. For a fee, our motivational interviewing trainer, who has completed a Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) training, can deliver a training course that is tailored to the skill level of your clinic staff.

 

• Additionally, it is required that anyone who delivers this intervention attend a Saferteens intervention training. This training can either be combined with the Motivational Interviewing course, or can be conducted separately.
